I am an author, journalist, public speaker, academic mentor and award-winning podcaster. I was born in Birmingham, raised in Norfolk, and studied at the University of Hull where I received a scholarship to complete my PhD in English. I was previously a teacher and lecturer of English. I have published writing for Netflix, The Booker Prizes, The Conversation, the Journal of Gender Studies, The Polyphony and the National Centre For Writing. I founded and host Pandemic Pages, a literature and culture podcast, and has also worked as a freelance researcher on podcast projects. I currently live in North Norfolk and in my spare time, I walk and swim with my spaniel on the coastal beaches and rescue feral and stray cats.
